Responsibilities

The Colorado Springs EHS Manager will be responsible overseeing the Environmental Health & Safety program for Keysight Technologies at our Colorado Springs high tech facility which includes R&D, Manufacturing, office space for 650+ employees. This position will be responsible for managing the program and EHS personnel. Must live within 30 minutes of the Colorado Springs site. Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) works in a proactive partnership with the business units to protect our employees, our community, and the environment.

Our EHS Management System enables us to support cutting-edge product development.

We are looking for an experienced EHS professional to manage the program and team with an emphasis on the below:

  • Environmental regulatory experience in the areas of air, water, wastewater, hazardous waste and chemical safety
  • Contribute technical and regulatory knowledge to develop and improve the management system procedures to meet regulatory and Keysight requirements
  • Work with the business units early in new projects to integrate EHS requirements into their planning
  • Provide compliance oversight for site activities; primary liaison with local regulators
  • Audit program and regulatory compliance

This position requires interfacing with Business Leadership team.

Responsibilities Include

  • Communication: This person will need to have strong communication skills to ensure engagement and leadership with the WPS team, engagement at the VP level, communication with suppliers, external regulatory bodies (Fire Department, EPA, Public Agencies), etc. Positive & collaborative communication skills are a must when working with site employees, vendors, contractors, regulatory agencies & the leadership team.
  • Leadership: The candidate will need to drive proactive operational results to keep manufacturing up & running, manage through change, cost savings initiatives, and align with key suppliers. Periodically, the candidate will require interface with site team during off hour emergencies.
  • Governance/Compliance: This role will need to balance the needs of the business and operations with ensuring that areas related to compliance and financial stewardship are managed well and appropriately. Candidates with experience with ISO standards (14001, 900X, 17025) or IEC standards likely have the functional experience to meet this requirement.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in EHS program management, preferably in electronics manufacturing or R&D
  • Bachelor's degree in an environmental or engineering field, or equivalent coursework and experience
  • Collaborative approach to working with EHS colleagues, business unit customers, and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, both planned and emergent
  • Detail- and accuracy-oriented
  • Experience with and understanding of hazardous chemicals
  • Ability to participate in hands-on hazardous materials activities, including incident response and wastewater treatment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE
  • Experience in the implementation of EHS management systems such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001
  • Cal/OSHA HAZWOPER certification (24-hour Haz Mat Technician, 40-hour, or Incident Commander)
